We trust that by now, you've seen ChurchPond's new interface, and we hope you like it. We've been working hard behind the scenes to make these and other changes.
We really appreciate the comments and suggestions that have come in from around the world. Many of you have offered great ideas for improving our website, and we have been busy making even more changes based on your suggestions.
A common theme we've been hearing has been "accessibility." ChurchPond viewers access our site using a variety of computer operating systems (Mac, Windows, Linux, etc.) and web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.). In addition, we have viewers connecting at speeds ranging from dial-up all the way to fiber-optic connections.
We recognize this diversity and we are working to make churchpond.com more accessible to all of our viewers. One of the steps in this direction will be a migration to Flash Media for all live broadcasts, on-demand, and pod-cast content. Without getting into too much detail, Flash Media is compatible with many operating systems, and web browsers, and it works much faster even for those with slower connections.
Our migration is targeted to begin on September 1, 2008, and we hope to have all on-demand content converted by December 20, 2008. If you didn't understand any of this, don't worry. All you need to do to keep enjoying ChurchPond's content is download and install the free Flash Player on your computer. You can download it here: http://www.adobe.com/ shockwave/download/download. cgi?P1_Prod_Version= shockwaveflash . It'll take no more than a few minutes, and then you'll be ready for the new ChurchPond platform. In addition, you may find that when the migration occurs, your web browser will automatically detect that it needs Flash, and it will walk you through the installation process.
